Absalom Graves was born October 15, 1791. The 1820 Boone County (Ky.) census names him as Absolom Graves Junior and lists him as enslaving three persons, a young boy and girl under 14 years of age and a man over 4 years old. The 1830 Boone County, Kentucky census shows Absalom Graves with seven enslaved persons. Absalom Graves is shown to have eight enslaved in 1840 living in Boone County, Kentucky. In 1850 Absalom Graves is shown as a farmer living in District Two in Boone County, Kentucky. He is living with his wife, Elizabeth and son Richard. He was born in Kentucky. The 1860 census lists Absalom Graves living with his son in Taylor Port, Boone County, Kentucky. He is a retired farmer. Absalom died the Nov 6, 1866 and is buried in Bullittsburg Baptist Church Cemetery.
