In his will, Michael Clore divided his enslaved people among his children: "I wish my negroes to be divided and remain in the family, unless any of them shall turn out to be bad or troublesome, in that event... my wife and children may conclude and dispose of them at any time, as they may see cause."
He also left money to one of his enslaved people: "I will to my old negro man Moses seven dollars..."
