Absalom was listed in the will of his father-in-law, Charles Morgan. According to the will he was in debt to Charles, owing him sixty pounds for a "negro wench." Other enslaved people were also mentioned and dispersed in the document, which was dated 3 Feb 1782 and filed in Culpeper County, Va.
Though he did not serve during the Revolutionary War, Absalom is listed as a Patriot by the DAR for having furnished supplies to the rebellion.
