Biography

Born in Boone County, Abraham Losford escaped ca. 1849, was caught, escaped again and fled to Canada briefly. He soon settled in Howell, MI around 1854. He returned after Emancipation for his family. He discovered that his wife (Elizabeth/Rosana) was deceased, so he returned to Michigan with his children Benjamin and Sarah/Sally.

He was a barber by trade, stayed in Howell until his death on May 29, 1897. His mother's name was: Rebecca, and he had a sister by the name of Sarah (see Kirtley, Milton). His second wife was Sarah Eldridge (they had a daughter named Sarah Irene).

Abraham's will also mentions his adopted daughter, Mary Anderson.
