Biography: Richard Sandford, born in 1755, served in the Westmoreland County, Virginia militia under Captian Singleton and then was promoted to lieutenant under Captain James Triplett. He later married Winnifred Redmon in Westmoreland County and migrated to Kentucky around 1795 where he died soon after. His children settled in Boone County, Kentucky, where his estate was inventoried in 1802.
