An inventory dated December 6th, 1844 listed George as "man" and assigned a value of $450. He was allotted to the slaveholder's son William Tomlinson with the provision that he "may be hired out, Samuel may keep one tenth of proceeds from hire." George was a member of Burlington Baptist Church, at a meeting on January 17, 1846, it was noted that Brother S.G. Scott reported George's death.
