Biography
Freed by deed from Fanny Parker, of Boone County (Ky.) on July 14, 1847. On July 1, 1861 she married Philip Butler, a Canadian farmer. They settled in Ontario, Canada.
According to the 1871 Census of Canada, Mary was literate and a Weslyan Methodist.
At the time of the 1921 Census of Canada, on June 1, the widowed Mary was living in the Colchester North district in Ontario. Her older brother George lived with her.
When she died, her remains were sent to Amherstburg, Ontario for burial. She was likely buried near her husband in Rose Hill Cemetery (Amherstburg, Ont.).
