Owen Gaines is the son of James and Virginia Watts Gaines. He is listed in the 1850 census living with his parents in District two.
In 1858 Owen Gaines married Pauline Huey in Boone County, Kentucky. He is in the 1860 census in Taylor Port with his wife and a daughter. His parents live next door to him. In 1870 Owen Gaines and his family are living in Florence, Ky. The 1880 census has Owen and family in Florence, Ky with his wife and children. In the 1900 census Owen is living in Bullittsville with his wife, Pauline.
Owen died in 1905 and is buried in Bullittsburg Baptist Church Cemetery.
