- Jim Polk was mentioned in the 1849 will of Henry Stuck and was left to his daughter Mary Elizabeth Stuck. He was valued at $250 during the 1851 appraisal. He was still young at a 1854 guardian settlement which referred to him as "little negro Jim Polk."
