Description

Historic Status: National Register of Historic Places
-
Floor Plan: T-Plan
-
Built on a monumental scale that belies its modest size, the Miller House is the finest small-scale Greek Revival work in the county. The sophisticated design may have been influenced by the Moore-Terrill House in North Bend Bottoms.
-
The pedimented entry porch gives way to a small recessed porch, or entry vestibule, from which one may enter the main room of the house or the two flanking rooms. The narrow farm driveway winds through a picturesque cluster of outbuildings set close to the road, including a small log pen of hewn and unhewn logs.
-
The Miller House is said to have been the work of carpenter-builder James McIntyre of Hamilton. It was added to the National Register in 1989.
