George Nicholson, one of Boone County’s master builders, built this Colonial Revival brick residence in the mid-20th century. According to a former owner, the house was built as a wedding gift for George’s sister Mae, who married long-time Boone County Clerk Dewey Benson.

The symmetrical facade contains a pedimented doorway framed by pilasters, and large, 8/8 sash. A screened porch adjoins the south elevation. The house sits on Ellwood Street in Burlington.
