Floor Plan: Center Passage
-
The Ellis House sits near the intersection of KY 18 and Camp Ernst Road in Burlington. This Colonial Revival residence with monumental portico is modeled on Mount Vernon, the home of George Washington. It was built in the mid-20th Century for an immigrant from Eastern Europe; in a patriotic gesture, he ordered the house plans from the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association, caretakers of the first president’s home.
-
The house has been adaptively reused and is part of the campus for the Boone County Extension District.
