Description
An 1857 article containing "reminisences of Hon. O. H. Smith- African American "boy," unnamed, tried for arson in Dearborn County for burning General Pike's barn (Zebulon?). He was represented by Vawter and Armstrong, of Boone County, with understanding that they would "have him for a number of years" if he were acquitted . Convicted and sentenced to five years at State Penitentiary.
