- The freedom seekers were members of the Middle Creek Baptist Church. The September 1865 records, which were reported by S. P. Brady, state that "Lewis, Nancy, Ann and Louisa left state in disorderly manner." Nancy and possibly Lewis and Ann may be from the Dinsmore farm.
