Aaron Clore had two sons with his wife, Rosannah Crisler. He had ten children with his enslaved mistress, Eliza. Nine of these are likely to be the children listed as "mulatto" in the 1850 census slave schedule.

After emancipation, Aaron left Rosannah and lived with Eliza and one of their children. He left a farm and livestock to each woman. He also left money in trust for Eliza and her children, as well as instructions that a new home be built for her.

Aaron Clore was featured in the television show 'Finding Your Roots', season 9, episode 8, "And Still I Rise". One of the episode's guests was former Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, who is one of Aaron Clore's g-g-g-g-grandchildren.
