Florence, John

Item

Title
Florence, John
Gender
Male
Biography
Though he inherited the enslaved person, Charles, as his share in his father's estate, later records give no evidence of John Florence holding enslaved people. Given that his brother James transferred his enslaved person immediately upon inheriting, it is likely the John did so as well. With most of the Florence siblings remaining in North Carolina, it is likely that Charles also remained in North Carolina.
