Friends of Emancipation (Boone County, Ky.)
Description
The "Friends of Emancipation" were a group of citizens nominated to represent Boone County at the 1849 Kentucky Constitutional Convention in Frankfort. It should be noted that some of these representatives were also enslavers, but believed emancipation and the end to enslavement was necessary.
A list of names was published in the 'Covington Journal', 13 April 1849, page 2, column 6.
