Biography: Myrax Josiah Crouch was born in 1865. He first married Elizabeth (“Betty”) Gaines. After her death in 1923, he married Ray Cross with whom he had a son, Myrix T. Crouch.; In addition to his work as a physician, Dr. Couch owned a drug store and a farm. He was a member of the state legislature, and, in 1903, he was one of the founders as well as the President of the Union Deposit Bank.; Dr. Crouch was active in county affairs. He was a promoter of building roads, and of the telephone exchange.
