Description
Amanda Bishop, who was formerly enslaved in Boone County, was taken from her place of employment in Covington and beaten with a club, because “she worked for a Union man and refused to work for the Rebel who beat her.” Amanda's father, Henry Bishop brought suit in Dec 1865 for his wife and several other children to be freed from enslavement.
