His 1923 marriage license gives Samuel's occupation as "boilermaker helper," and notes that he had been married once before. His bride, Iola, was a nurse born in Atlanta (Ga.) on July 12, 1898. Her parents were David M. Benson and Rena L. Keith. Reverend Cooper was to officiate the wedding ceremony.
