James Bailey was born in Boone County (Ky.) and credited to Harrison County (Ky.). He served in the Civil War and was promoted to Corporal. He fell sick and was admitted to a hospital, then later discharged per the surgeon in Norfolk (Va.) on June 8, 1865.

Emma was born in Boone County (Ky.) and left Kentucky after emancipation to seek better educational opportunities for her children. She married married a man named Lewis in Kentucky and they had three children living in 1900. Her son Frank Bard lived in in Lenawee (Mich.). The family lived in Fulton County (Ohio) with two children living in 1900. Three of her children were born in Kentucky. Her daughter Emma died in 1939 in Wauseon (Ohio).

Elliston, Andrew J.
Andrew J. Elliston enlisted in the 117th Infantry at Covington on September 13, 1864, Co E. He was promoted to 1st Sergeant shortly after enlistment, but was sick in hospital from September 1864 till January 1865. He was reduced to ranks in January and promoted again to Sergeant, and 1st Sergeant. He mustered out at Brownsville (Tex.) on August 10, 1867.
