Biography: In November, 1815, Alice escaped from slaveholder Mary Mosby (widow of Benjamin Mosby.) She was described as having been a "house servant" and was about twenty when she escaped. It appears she was caught, as she appeared in the inventory of Benjamin Mosby's estate in January, 1816.; Alice was valued at $400 in the 9 January 1816 inventory.
