Biography: In the will of Benjmain Mitchell, which was certified on February 24, 1857- Mary and her children were to be sold and the resulting money was to be loaned out at interest for the benefit of the slaveholder's daughters; Benjamin Mitchell was from and died in Boone County (Ky.), but resided in Saline, Missouri. Not clear if the enslaved people were sold in Boone County or in Missouri. In 1850, Mitchell was listed in the slave schedule (in Boone County) as holding three enslaved females: 17 yrs old, 4 yrs old and two yrs old. (Mary and children).
