Description
From the Bondurant Family Association website: "The Bondurant Family Association (BFA) is an association of Americans that trace their ancestry from Jean Pierre Bondurant, a French Huguenot who immigrated to Jamestown, Virginia in 1700 to escape religious persecution in France after Louis XIV revoked the Edict of Nantes. The organization was formed in 1987 to save the gravesite of Jean Pierre and to share genealogy information among Bondurant descendants in America. The organization publishes quarterly newsletters documenting genealogy information provided by the membership. The organization holds an annual meeting of Bondurant relatives at various locations in the USA.
Through the work of the Bondurant Family Association, the Bondurant family tree has been documented backed to the 1400's in Languedoc (southern France). A delegation of Bondurant relatives visited the family home (birthplace of Jean Pierre Bondurant) in Génolhac, France and posted a plaque on this Bondurant historical site.
The association has located and now maintains the gravesite of Jean Pierre Bondurant near Richmond, VA.
The BFA invites other interested Bondurant relatives to join in our journey of historical discovery by joining our membership and participating in our events and research."
