Joseph A Graves was born circa 1815. The 1850 census lists Jos A Graves living in District Two in Boone County, Kentucky. He is shown with his wife, A. C. and three children. His occupation is farmer. In 1860 Joseph A Graves appears with wife Cornelia and children in Lamoine, McDonough County, Illinois. He states he was born in Kentucky. Joseph A Graves died in Saline County Missouri previous to September 1869 when Jeremiah Graves was appointed administrator of his estate by the court. His wife was the daughter of Absolom Graves (1791-1866) and Elizabeth Graves.
