Burlington Presbyterian Church Building (Burlington, Ky.)
Description
Historic Status: National Register of Historic Places
Now defunct, the church's original building still stands on Jefferson Street in Burlington. Built in the 1830s, the building is a Greek Revival temple-front edifice. As built, the three-bay facade was articulated with brick pilasters. One of the two original doors, with elliptical fanlight, survives in an outer bay. The other two were destroyed when it was later converted to a fire station.
The building was sensitively restored by the Boone County Fiscal Court, and now houses the Boone County Maintenance Department. It was included in the Burlington Historic District that was added to the National Register in 1979. --National Register Nomination
