Description: Mr. Green, a naturalized German national living in Pendleton County was caught assissting in the escape of two women and two children (aged 6 and 10 yrs.) The slavedholders were Mr. Ellis and Mr. Kirby, both lived near Flour Creek. The relationships amongst the women and children is not clear. All were caught in the attempt, the reporter paraphrased that Green was "doing his duty and would do the same again."
