Title
Percival family
Description
Slave Holding
The Percivals are one of many families that took a chance and left their homes to explore and settle the wilds west of the Appalachian Mountains. Kentucky was in its infancy when the first Percivals arrived in Boone County at the turn of the nineteenth century, living side by side with more well-known Boone County settlers such as the Tousey, Piatt, and Johnson families. For whatever reason, the Percival family has been forgotten over time, but these early settlers played an important role in the history of Boone County.
