Biography

Clifford Coyle, who was often known as “Peaches,” was born in 1904. He married long-time friend Malle Beckett around 1949.

Before the office of mayor was created, Coyle was the chairman of the Florence City Board of Trustees, a position equivalent to the city mayor. He held this post from 1940 to 1952. Coyle was also the co-owner of the Dixie View Nursery in Mason. At the time of his death, he was working as a custodian at Ockerman Junior High School. Coyle was a member of the Boone Union Masons and the Covington Scottish Rite.

Clifford Coyle died on June 30, 1981. Following a Scottish Rite service, he was buried in the Hopeful Lutheran Church Cemetery in Florence.
