Louisiana Freedman's Bank Records from April 11, 1867 state Solomon Robert Moses was born in Boone County (Ky.), his wife is named as Charlotte Ann and their son Levi Moses was 15 years old (born circa 1852).
Their address was: No. 15 Bertrand and Common and Gravier. His occupation was as a teacher. He had a sister by the name of Jane Herrim (living in the city).

Robert Nelson was born in Orange County (Va.) and brought to Boone County (Ky.) as a child. He was to be sold to pay the debts of a slaveholder but ran to Canada. Later, he purchased the freedom of his wife, who belonged to another slaveholder, for $400.
