Two unnamed African Americans are charged with "ku-kluxing" for threats made on another African American man because of the political candidate for whom he voted- the men claimed to be teasing, the case was dismissed.

1875--Amos' safe is burglarized
Amos, the steward at the Boone House Hotel, discovers that his safe has been robbed. A young man was caught and tried, but the judge found the evidence lacking and dismissed the case. It's unclear if Amos' property was recovered.

Jury trial of Willoughby for felony larceny, found guilty and sentenced to thrity-nine lashes, agreeable to law.

1805--Two Enslaved Convicted of the Murder of a Third
December 30th: The trial of Ralf and Ned for a felony charge. They were enslaved by William Carter and Jeremiah Kirtley, respectively. They were charged with murdering James, who was held by John Jones. Both claimed innocence but Ralf was found guilty and was sentenced to be hanged on February 5th for manslaughter while Ned was sentenced to 25 lashes on his bare back.
