Biography: Elizabeth Crisler Utz was married in and had all of her children with her husband, John (a.k.a. Johannes) Utz in either Madison or Culpeper Virginia. After his death (circa 1807) the family moved to Boone County (Ky.); She first appears in the 1820 census holding seven slaves, 2 males under 14 years of age, 1 male between 14-2, 3 females under 14, and 1 female 26 through 44 years of age. Three of her sons head their own households with their own slaveholdings, Jonas [1792-1878), Fielding (1794-?) and Jonathan (1797-1876). Two sons (Jeremiah and Noah) remain in her household, to appear in the 1830 census with their own households and slaveholdings.; In 1830 she holds 7 slaves. By the 1840 census, she is likely living in the household of her son Noah. She dies in 1844.
