Allen F. Scruggs was born in Virginia, and moved to Tennessee as a small child. In 1820 he was in Alabama, where he joined the Methodist church. His listed occupation is as a minister. He traveled on missions frequently. He married four time. He outlived all but his final wife. He appears in Boone County (Ky.) in the 1850 census. After this decade, he remains in Missouri.
