Biography

He resided on Petersburg Road in Boone County, Kentucky, and appears in the 1867 tax rolls, being assessed $50 for one lot. He moved to Erlanger in neighboring Kenton County sometime between 1890 and 1900, likely after the death of his wife in 1897.

Fisher was 85 when he was admitted into a home for disabled veterans in Dayton, Ohio. His listed disabilities included "Vision, Hypertrophic dilation of heart, active irregular chronic rheumatism" He was described as a widower with gray hair and hazel eyes, standing 5-feet 8-inches tall. At that time he was a farmer in Erlanger, Kentucky. At that time he was also drawing a veteran's pension of $12 a month.

When Fisher died, the veterans home sent notification via telegram to his niece, Lizzie Slaughter, who lived in Erlanger, Ky. His money and effects were turned over to her. His body was shipped to Covington and he was buried at Florence Cemetery.
