Caesar was included in the 1829 inventory of the estate of Benjamin G. Willis, valued at $75. In guardian settlement documents in 1835, Caesar is among the enslaved people who were "in the hands of" Absalom Cornelius, guardian of the infant heirs of Benjamin G. Willis. He was listed at that time as a "boy" and was given the value of $50. The division of property in 1838 shows Caesar assessed with a value of $400. He was allotted to Benjamin Grant Willlis.
