- In 1832, Foster was provided as collateral for a loan along with a woman named Becky or Beck and her children, Henry and Dolly by their enslaver, James Benham. Jeremiah Garnett loaned Benham $700, the assessed value of the four people. No additional documents were found showing the debt was paid.
