Description: Slave Holding; General Wallace Garrison (1840-1920) was named after either his grandfather or uncle, who was referred to as “General Wallace”. Wallace Garrison was born to Elzie/Elzy Garrison (1806-1894)and Mary/Polly Wallace (1802-1876) and married Sarah L. Violett from Gallatin County in 1878. Wallace Garrison inherited the family homestead near Big Bone Baptist Church after his father's death in 1894.; The Garrison Creek is located in northern Boone County, near Bullittsburg Baptist Church and is presumably named after some portion of the family. The area around the creek boasted a little town and a school at one time.
