Confederate States of America

The Confederacy was made up of eleven US states that attempted to secede from the United States in the 1860s. The Confederacy was defeated in the US Civil War, reunifying the nation.
United States Postal Service

Originally founded by an act of Congress in 1789, the US Postal Service followed on the heels of several predecessors, including a British colonial postal system, a system founded by the Second Continental Congress, and a new postal system organized under the Articles of Confederation.
