Description: In December, 1793, 21-yr-old Jeffrey fled enslaver Thomas Dinwiddie's property near Johnson's Mill in Scott County. Jeffrey was of a "high yellow" complexion and had a large birthmark on the back of his shoulders . Dinwiddie cautioned that Jeffrey was "artful" and a talented storyteller. Two dollars plus expenses was offered for his return.
