Big Bone Springs Health Resort (Big Bone, Ky.)
The salt lick at Big Bone was an attraction because it was said that the minerals from the salt healed many illnesses and created a leisure paradise for those who wanted to be cured. Many visited the secluded area to bathe in the springs, drink the sulphur water and visit the wells. The mineral water was also bottled up and sold for visitors to drink.

Mail Pouch Barn (South Fork, Boone County, Ky.)
This modest transverse-frame barn of the mid-20th century is built of young trees – many with the bark still in place – which were likely cut on the same property along South Fork Church Road near Verona. The broad side exhibits a faded advertisement for Mail Pouch Tobacco. Although common in other areas, these icons of rural America are rarely found in Boone County.
