This is a 2-story Neo-Classical Revival brick building (circa 1906) with corbeled brick trim and a shallow pediment rising from the cornice on the facade, which apppears little altered from the original. Boone County Infirmary Building (Burlington, Ky.)
The Boone County Infirmary was built sometime in the 1870s to help the indigent of the area, who were unable to care for themselves. It was located right off Idlewild Road in Burlington. Though there is a mention of a “county poor house” in court orders in the 1860s, no earlier location has been yet determined.

Senator S. Walker Tolin House (Burlington, Ky.)
Built circa 1890, this home reflects some of the more innovative trends in American architecture at the end of the 19th century. In traditional architecture in the county the wall surface was treated as a plane, but the Tolin house has fancy brick-work, including a mousetooth cornice that marks the second floor line, that gives depth to the wall surface. S. Walker Tolin was a state senator and a lawyer in Burlington. --National Register Nomination
